Education & Training

Dr. Katherine Swing was born in Naples, Florida and attended Stetson University in DeLand, FL where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude. She then received her medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. During medical school, she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society and was awarded the Tampa General Hospital Medical Staff and Clinical Scholar’s Award. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, serving as Chief Resident in her final year of training.

Upon graduation, Dr. Swing practiced at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center as a clinical instructor, teaching residents and medical students surgical skills as well as giving numerous didactic lectures.

She was in private practice for 12 years before practicing at Ochsner Health from 2016 to 2022.

Awards & Recognition

She has been awarded the Patient’s Choice Recognition and Compassionate Doctor Award multiple times by her patients. She also received the New Orleans City Business Reader’s Ranking Award as a Top OB/Gyn in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Special Interests

Dr. Swing’s practice focuses on bioidentical hormone therapy, perimenopause, menopause, women’s wellness, general gynecology, robotic surgery, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)

Professional Associations

Dr. Swing is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the North American Menopause Society and obtained a certificate of training completion in Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Therapy through Worldlink Medical in 2019. In addition, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
